Privacy at Wattle

Last updated 20 May 2026

Wattle is a companion for your child’s early years. We treat the information you share — especially anything about your child — with real care, and we collect as little as possible.

What we collect

  • Your account: your first name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
  • Your child: a first name, date of birth and gender. We do not ask for a surname, address, photos or health records.
  • Your choices: the topics and advice settings you choose, and any “moments” you note.
  • Basic technical data: a session cookie to keep you signed in, and standard server logs for security and reliability.

Why we collect it

We use this information only to run Wattle for you — to personalise the ideas you see, keep your account secure, and let you sign in. We rely on your consent, given when you create your account.

How it’s protected

Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash. Connections are encrypted with HTTPS. Each family’s data is isolated, and access is limited to running the service.

Who can see it

Your information is never sold, and never shared for advertising. Payments are handled by Stripe, our payment provider — your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach Wattle’s servers. We use trusted hosting and email providers purely to deliver the service.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your information for as long as your account is open. You can delete your account at any time from Settings — this permanently removes your account, every child profile and all notes. You may also contact us to access or correct your information.

Children’s information

Wattle accounts are for parents and carers, not children. The limited details you provide about a child are used solely to tailor age-appropriate ideas for you.

Your rights

Wattle is operated in Australia and handles personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You may ask us to access, correct or delete your information at any time.

Changes & contact

If this notice changes, we’ll update the date above. Questions or requests are welcome at hello@wattle.one.

Wattle offers general parenting ideas and is not medical advice. For any concern about your child’s health or development, please speak with your child health nurse, GP or another qualified professional.
